Welcome & Verify

Greet new members, hand out roles automatically — and lock raids out with a single button.

Two things in one module: a greeting that comes across as friendly, and a verification that keeps raid accounts outside. You switch both on under /willkommen setup.

Greeting

Enter a Begrüßungskanal (greeting channel) — without it nothing happens. The text may contain placeholders:

Placeholder Is replaced by
{user} the mention (@name)
{username} the bare name, without a mention
{server} the server name
{count} the current member count

If a plain text message is too bare for you: build yourself an embed in the Embed-Builder, give it a name and enter that under Stattdessen ein gespeichertes Embed (use a saved embed instead). The placeholders work there in exactly the same way.

With /willkommen test you trigger the greeting once for yourself. Roles are deliberately not handed out while doing so — only the message is sent.

Verification

This is the part that really protects.

Without verification every new member gets their roles straight away. In a raid, that means a hundred freshly created accounts at the same time as well. With verification nothing happens until someone presses a button — that costs a human being two seconds and a script the whole attack.

This is how you set it up:

  1. Under /willkommen setup, switch on the verification and enter a role that unlocks the server.
  2. In the channel settings, make sure that @everyone sees only the verification channel, and that all other channels are visible only to that role.
  3. With /willkommen panel, put the button into the verification channel.

Step 2 is the important one. Without it there is a button standing there that locks nothing away — everyone sees the server without pressing it.

Mindestalter des Kontos (minimum account age) is the second adjustment: accounts younger than the configured value are not allowed to verify. Seven days stop most throwaway accounts without putting off genuine new members. The default is 0, so off.

If verification is on, the Rollen bei Beitritt (roles on joining) only follow after the click — not already on entry. Otherwise the button would be pointless.

Farewell

Optionally a message when someone leaves. A tip from practice: use a team channel for that rather than the public one. A list of public departures makes a good impression on nobody — it still helps the team.

Here {user} is only inserted as a name. Anyone who has left the server can no longer be mentioned.

Requirements

The bot needs Rollen verwalten (manage roles), and its own role has to stand above the roles it is meant to hand out in the role list. /check tells you if that is not the case.

On top of that, the Server Members intent has to be switched on in the Discord developer portal — otherwise the bot does not even find out that somebody has joined.
