From then on the bot checks every five minutes and announces new broadcasts.

The three services are different

This is not a detail, it is the reason for nearly everything you will notice about this module.

Twitch has a proper interface. For that you need free access once: register an application at dev.twitch.tv/console/apps, then enter the client ID and secret in the configuration. Without those two values the bot tells you straight away what is missing when you add a channel.

YouTube needs no key. Every channel has an open feed, which the bot reads. It works most reliably with the channel ID (begins with UC…); a user name only works for older channels. What gets announced are new videos, not live streams.

Kick has no official interface. The bot uses the same endpoint as the website. That works, but it can stop without warning — Twitch and YouTube then carry on announcing, and Kick stays silent. Let us know if that happens.

Mention

Selectable per watched channel: nobody, @everyone, @here or a particular role. A role of your own is almost always the better choice — whoever wants announcements goes and gets them, and everyone else is not woken up. Reaction roles go well with that.

The text

Under /stream setup you define what the announcement looks like. Placeholders: {name}, {title}, {url}, {platform}.

Default: {name} ist live: **{title}** plus the link.

No duplicate announcements

The bot remembers the ID of the last broadcast it announced. A stream that drops out briefly and carries on is therefore not announced twice. Only when a new broadcast begins is there an announcement again.

If you add a channel that is live right now, that is not announced retroactively — only the next broadcast is. Otherwise setting it up would immediately send out an announcement for something that has been running for hours.
