Getting Started
From an empty server to a fully configured bot — in about five minutes.
What you need
- A Discord server on which you are allowed to Server verwalten (manage server) — or which you own.
- A browser. Nothing else — no hosting, no token, no console.
Fishbot is set up in the Dashboard: sign in, pick a server, click a module, save. Anyone who would rather stay in Discord can configure every module by slash command instead — both routes lead to the same result, and you can switch at any time.
Step 1: Invite the bot
On the start page, click Zum Server hinzufügen (add to server). Discord asks you which server the bot should join and which permissions it gets. Confirm both.
If the server is missing from the list, you do not have enough permissions there. Then someone with "Server verwalten" has to invite the bot.
Step 2: Sign in
Click Anmelden (sign in) at the top right. You sign in with the same Discord account you use on the server. All we see as a result is your name, your avatar and the list of your servers — not your messages.
Step 3: Pick a server
In the dashboard you see every server on which you have a say. Servers with a green dot already have the bot; the others show an Einladen (invite) button.
Step 4: Build your first embed
In the dashboard, go to Embeds, or type /embed create in Discord. Both lead to the same
result — take whichever you prefer:
| Dashboard | In Discord | |
|---|---|---|
| Handling | form with a preview next to it | buttons and input windows |
| Good for | longer texts, many fields | posting something quickly |
| Saving | yes | yes |
The details are in the article Embed-Builder.
Step 5: Check that everything works
Type /status in Discord. The bot replies with its plan, its response time and a link to the
dashboard. If no answer comes, the list under When something does not
work helps.
