Embed Builder

Good-looking messages with a title, colour, images and fields — saveable and editable afterwards.

What is an embed?

An embed is the message with the coloured bar on the left, a title, often an image and neatly set blocks of text. Rules, announcements, ticket panels — almost everything that looks official on a well-kept server is an embed.

Two layouts

Before anything else you decide what the message should look like:

Klassisches Embed (classic embed) Karte (card)
Image at the bottom, plus a small thumbnail at the top right right at the top, above everything
Colour bar on the left accent line on the left
Fields yes, up to 25 no
Author & timestamp yes no
Footer possible with an icon small line at the bottom
Link buttons yes yes

The Karte is what the Bradley bot built: image on top, bold title, text, divider, small-print footer and the button below it. Technically these are Discord's "Components V2".

A message that has already been sent cannot switch layout — Discord does not allow it. If you want to change from embed to card, send it again.

Sections in the card

A card may consist of several blocks, separated by a line — introduction, bullet list, payment methods, closing sentence. For that you write a line with three dashes in the text:

Hol dir exklusive Items, solange der Vorrat reicht.

---

➡ **Import-Fahrzeuge** — Autos, die nicht jeder hat
➡ **VIP** — exklusive Vorteile

---

💳 **Zahlungsmethoden**
PayPal · Sofortüberweisung · Kreditkarte

Every --- line becomes a real divider in the card, the way Discord draws them itself. It is deliberately the same character that means a divider everywhere else, instead of a dedicated section editor: typing instead of clicking, and anyone who does not know about it loses nothing.

Only in the Karte. The classic embed has no dividers — there the three dashes stay as text, so that nothing silently disappears.

Up to five buttons, each with a label and an address, e.g. 🛒 Shop öffnen → https://store.playrustic.gg. They work in both layouts. Buttons that do something instead of linking (granting roles, opening tickets) come with the corresponding modules.

The three ways

Quick: /embed quick

The way from the old Bradley bot: pick the channel, fill in a window with five fields (Bild-URL, Titel, Text, Footer, Button Text | Button URL — image URL, title, text, footer) — and the message is out. Always produces a card. No saving, no preview, but done in ten seconds.

In Discord: /embed create

You get a message that only you can see. At the top the Live-Vorschau (live preview), below it buttons:

  • Titel & Text (title & text) — title, description, a link on the title, and optionally a normal text above the embed (e.g. @everyone).
  • Autor & Footer (author & footer) — the small line right at the top and right at the bottom, each with an icon.
  • Bilder (images) — large image at the bottom, thumbnail at the top right, timestamp.
  • Farbe (colour) — eight presets or your own hex code such as F5541F.
  • Feld +/−/bearbeiten (field add/remove/edit) — the boxes in the embed. Up to 25 of them, side by side if you like.
  • Layout — switches between the classic embed and the card.
  • Button +/− — create and remove link buttons.
  • JSON — paste finished embed JSON (e.g. from Discohook) and apply it.

At the bottom: Senden (send), Speichern (save), Abbrechen (cancel).

Every change updates the preview immediately. As long as the preview shows a yellow warning, it cannot be sent — the bot tells you exactly what is missing.

In the dashboard

The form on the left, the preview on the right. Handy for long texts, because you do not have to work through several input windows. From here, too, you can post straight into a channel.

Saving and reusing

When saving you give a short name, e.g. regeln. After that:

/embed send name:regeln kanal:#regeln → posts it
/embed edit name:regeln → opens it in the builder again
/embed list → shows all saved embeds
/embed delete name:regeln → deletes it

How many embeds you may save depends on the plan: Free three of them, Pro and Ultimate unlimited.

Changing messages already posted

This is the point at which most other bots stop. When you have posted a saved embed, the bot remembers the message. /embed edit name:regeln opens the builder, and Senden then updates the existing message instead of posting a new one.

If you want to edit a particular message, copy its ID (right-click → Nachrichten-ID kopieren, copy message ID — for that, developer mode must be on in the Discord settings) and give it under nachricht_id — even without a saved name. The bot reads the real state back out of the message, no matter whether it is a classic embed or a card, and you carry on editing it.

The bot can only edit messages it wrote itself. That is a rule from Discord, not a limitation on our side.

Who is allowed to do this?

By default everyone who has the Nachrichten verwalten (manage messages) permission. Via Discord's own command permissions (Servereinstellungen → Integrationen, server settings → integrations) you can set this more finely per role or per channel.

Common stumbling blocks

  • "Mir fehlen Rechte in #kanal" (I am missing permissions in #kanal) — the bot needs Nachrichten senden and Links einbetten there.
  • Image is not displayed — the URL must point directly at an image file and start with https://.
  • Line break in a field — write \n, that is converted into a real break when saving.
  • Builder does not respond any more — it expires after 30 minutes without activity. Open it again; anything saved is kept.
